If you suffer from dark circles under your eyes or bags under your eyes, you are almost certainly wondering how to get
rid of them for good. You are also probably wondering what caused them to develop in the first place.
People who have dark circles under their eyes tend to look older than people who do not. Dark circles under your eyes
will age you more than just having grey hair will. They are, by far, the most common complaint given by women who
are unhappy about their aging appearance.
Dark circles under your eyes are often caused by allergies. If this is what is causing your dark circles, then simply
removing yourself from the allergen will go a long way toward getting rid of them. Some allergies can be treated very
effectively with over-the-counter remedies and these will often eliminate or minimize dark circles under your eyes. If
your dark circles under your eyes are a constant feature experienced by you, then you may have developed a food
allergy of some sort. You may wish to consult with a dermatologist to see if you can determine what things you might
have developed an allergy to. Many people who have allergies also tend to be deficient in certain vitamins. It is
thought that taking a multivitamin will help people with allergies and will help with their dark circles under their eyes.
Dark circles under your eyes can also be caused by an allergy to gluten or an intolerance to gluten.. A more severe
extension of this allergy is something called celiac disease. This disease can only be diagnosed by a physician,
usually through a variety of blood tests.
There are many ways to deal with dark circles under the eyes. One of the most popular tried and true remedy for dark
circles is to place a cucumber slice over each eye. This will help reduce puffiness around the eyes. Simply place a
slice of cucumber over each eye being sure to cover the dark area. Lie down and rest like this for about fifteen minutes
while keeping your eyes closed.
Another popular treatment for dark circles is to use cool tea bags or even ice cubes that have been wrapped in a soft
cloth. Tea contains a product called tannin and tannin will reduce swelling and also discoloration. Be sure to use tea
bags which contain caffeinated tea as the caffeine is what contains the tannin. After steeping a cup of tea, place the
tea bags in the refrigerator overnight. The next morning, lie down and place them over your eyes being sure to cover
the dark circles. Keep them there for about ten to fifteen minutes with your eyes closed. Using either of these two
treatments will greatly reduce the appearance of dark circles under your eyes.
As you’re probably beginning to see, the skin around your eyes is very delicate. If it gets tired or dry or stressed, you
develop dark circles. The best under eye treatment will rest your eyes or hydrate your skin. Keeping your skin under
your eyes moist is crucial to healthier looking skin.
When you choose an under eye treatment eye cream, make sure you choose something specifically designed for
under your eyes, where the skin is very delicate. Follow the directions and remove the eye cream after the designated
time to let your skin breathe.
